Now heading into today's post, I really want to talk about something that's been on my mind all week: my culture. If you didn't know, I'm Nigerian and our way of doing things is much different from the way Americans do things. I thought about how amazing being Nigerian is (especially the turnt parties and bomb food). I want to show you all a part of where I come from. Enjoy today's post and thank you all for your love and support always <3
The question that keeps ringing in my ears is: will my Nigerian culture, language, etc. pass on to the next generation. My parents came from Africa and so did majority of my friend's parents. But the way my parents speak Yoruba to me, make delicious jellof rice and fufu may not pass on to my children directly from me and it's kind of scary. My goal now is to educate myself more about Nigeria, my language, and the true meaning of why certain things are done certain ways so that my children and their children will never lose the most important thing in life--where they come from.
I hope you all liked this post, please let me know what you'd like to see in 2016. I love you all and Happy New Year in advance!
